Google and Facebook have specialized their respective advertising approaches and successfully created meaningful revenue lines from those approaches. Google Ads focuses on ‘paid search’ by allowing advertisers to bid on keywords and charging them for clicked ads while Facebook ads specialize in ‘paid social’ by utilizing user data to target ads.

Companies adopt advertising strategies based on their advertising budget, target audience and the stage of the buyer’s journey they are focusing on. Most companies adopt a mixture of both Google and Facebook ads into their overall marketing strategy.

If you have any experiences or metrics that provide insights into Google and Facebook’s advertising approaches, we would love to hear from you.

We're a group of graduate business students exploring the importance of local newspapers and news sites, with a focus on sustainability and related business practices. We're hoping to build a community of stakeholders to help and support our research. Please reach out if you're available for an interview to share your thoughts and experiences on the topic.
