It is vital to keep valuable papers alive and according to an article by Forbes, does not actually take a lot.
Across the news industry, the decline in print circulation and advertising dollars is continuous. However when it comes to digital advertising, a little can go a long way. An article written by a digital marketer, Dr. Augustine Fou highlights the importance of quality over quantity when it comes to digital advertising.
Dr. Fou discussed unsuccessful digital advertising stemming from “marketers’ obsession with big numbers”. There is a common misconception that more is better, however often big numbers do not translate into more sales when it comes to digital advertising. Marketers that spend far fewer dollars smartly in digital advertising get far better business outcomes.
Through multiple experiments, marketers large and small were able to make digital ads work in their favour. An ad that was previously being shown on 400,000 websites was shown to 5,000 people and yielded the same outcome.
“Small business owners did not need to buy millions of ad impressions when buying 1/10 the quantity yielded more sales”.
